Reinforcement-sparing demolition

Removing concrete precisely without damaging the underlying reinforcement.

The power of water

Do you need to demolish concrete structures for renovation or repair? With hydrodemolition we can remove damaged concrete to within centimetres of accuracy. Hydrodemolition produces no shocks or vibrations, which with traditional techniques can cause micro-cracks in the surrounding structure. The water jet blasts the damaged concrete out from between the reinforcement, but leaves the rest intact. You are left with a clean, load-bearing substrate, so that you can easily repair the concrete.

Minimising nuisance

An important additional advantage of hydrodemolition is that it causes hardly any nuisance. Unlike pneumatic hammers, the pumps and the water jet produce no impact noise. Nor is any hazardous silica dust released. With hydrodemolition, your existing production processes or traffic flows experience little disruption from the work.

The benefits

Efficiently applicable, from small repairs to large-scale projects.

When to choose reinforcement-sparing demolition?

Every year, 13 million m3 of concrete is processed in the Netherlands. In the process, things occasionally go wrong: cracks, honeycombing, leaks, spalling. In addition, many older structures are due for renovation. Hydrodemolition is ideally suited when preserving the reinforcement is crucial, for example when renovating bridges, parking decks, basement decks and industrial floors. It is also the method of choice in environments where vibration and dust must be kept to a minimum.
