Refractory concrete removal
Effective removal of refractory concrete, even in confined spaces using robotics.

Hydrodemolition of refractory concrete
Removing refractory concrete calls for a specific approach, in which hydrodemolition plays a key role while preserving V-anchors, membrane walls and Hex Mesh. Because of their density and hardness, these materials are difficult to demolish with traditional methods and often cause damage to the underlying steel structures. Hydrodemolition is highly effective and, with the help of robotics, can be carried out in confined spaces, so that the safety of our workers is guaranteed.
The benefits
Efficiently applicable, from small repairs to large-scale projects.
Removes refractory concrete while preserving V-anchors, membrane walls and Hex Mesh — no damage to the steel structure
Robotics make execution possible in small and confined spaces, with control from a safe distance
Considerable savings in time, costs and raw materials — the installation is back in operation sooner
No shocks or vibrations, no quartz dust — surrounding production processes remain undisturbed

Why hydrodemolition for refractory concrete?
Refractory concrete has no traditional reinforcement, because metal expanding in the heat could crack the concrete. Instead, V-anchors or Hex Mesh are used. With the power of water we can remove damaged sections of refractory concrete with great precision and without adverse effects on the rest of the structure. What remains is a clean, load-bearing substrate, perfectly suited for the reapplication of refractory concrete. In this work ADS collaborates closely with partner VTG Beton, specialist in concrete repair and refractory applications.
